This is the fifth year I've done Looptober, a Fediverse exercise where you post a little track every day for all of October. Last year I did as much as I could with the Arduino which made it a bit musically uninteresting. My technical constraint this year was that I wanted to learn how to use the Korg Volca Drum I got last Christmas, and my other constraint was that I've been really busy at work, so I wanted to not waste my time fiddling with SuperCollider synths.
I ended up learning a lot about the Volca, got it to sync with my modular and laptop via a very silly control signal chain, and relied on granulation to cover up my bad guitar playing even more than usual. Turns out that making drum synths is time-consuming and having a beat box speeds things up a lot! Who knew!
I also rebooted my music site with Faircamp, a static site generator for music which is a lot less hassle than the old setup I had with Funkwhale.
