About a year ago I made a note in my reminders to do a game based on grawlix, a set of little doodles which I turned into emojos. When this year's Lisp Game Jam rolled around I did it, and came fifth, which I was really pleased with, considering how polished some of the other entries were, and that this is the first time I've tried to write a game since I was in high school.
The game is still up on itch.io, but I've also put it on my website which is where I'll be pushing updates - I would like to spend some more time adding levels.
Writing a little game in a language I love was one of my reactions to what AI is doing to the tech sector right now. If you're going to program at all, it should be fun, right?
My other reaction has been to give up on following certain coding forums and blogs completely, partly because what's happening at the moment is depressing, but mostly because people are either generating or polishing the blog posts with LLMs, or constantly accusing one another of doing this. In that light, I've added an AI policy to this blog.
